Active Tribe Courtown

Positive experience: Joined with my family for three months. My impression is that they prioritise activities that cost extra to the detriment of their paying members. Sauna etc. Can't be used for hours at the weekend as children are doing lessons that cost extra. My hotel pool ran lessons and sauna remained open. Padel courts are impressive but cost extra. Gym needs a refurbishment, even if it's gradual as do changing rooms. My previous gyms were a hotel gym and snap fitness. Unfortunately a better experience in both of these. Staff are okay. They don't greet you and don't seem overly enthusiastic.

Fantastic experience: Lovely day out with granddaughter she loved the swimming pool

Negative experience: This place has gone to the dogs . I've never seen a swimming pool as dirty as this place is. They must not have a cleaner. Baby pool manky , loads of sand and bits of floating dirt. The changing rooms were manky all dirt and snots on the backs of the doors . So much chlorine in the water that all of our fingertips and skin in our hands were peeling immediately after leaving . I won't be back here again . The prices they charge should reflect the quality but this place needs a good scrub!

Fantastic experience: It's a great gym. My son goes here all the time. Super facilities, ample free parking, affordable membership.

Negative experience: Wouldn't give any stars as the coffees were actually apauling they were given out stone cold and when I went to return and explain they wore cold the woman decided to heat up some milk and pour back in on top of the coffees that were colder than there filthy ice bath, and the excuse for freezing coffee was .... Sorry I was too busy and absolutely no one in there atall an absolute joke if I wanted anything cold an ice cream would of being better. And by the way only reason for one star was because I couldn't post this without having to give one so subtract that star

Fantastic experience: Nice woodland walk with some wheelchair/stroller access for a short part of the walk which is scenic and tranquil beside Active Tribe adventure area and pool

Positive experience: Swimming lessons available are great for young kids

Negative experience: One of the worst treatments I have ever experienced, staff are completely rude and unhelpful. Paid to use the pool, but when I go to the pool , it was fully booked for a club. That’s fine it can happen. , I asked for a voucher or refund for another time . Lady on desk, pretty much told not there problem. Avoid at all cost

Negative experience: I've been a member now for months and while the gym has everything I need, everything else is quite poor. The sauna (which is very important to me) is usually between 60 and 65° (today at 58) while the humidity recently has been between 65 and 70%. Instead of hot, the air feels very heavy. A sauna is supposed to be at a minimum of 70-75° with a humidity at not more than 30%. I've never been so disappointed in a sauna. I've waited with leaving a review, hoping it's just a phase and would get better, but no. You need to be lucky to have steam in the steam room, a lot of times all that comes out is hot air. The ice bath and jacuzzi are a really nice addition though. The pool could be great but they always have lessons on in the afternoons and evenings. It's closed between 3 and 6pm for children's lessons (including the health club for a strange reason) and there are lessons on in the evenings with no lane for the public. If I want to lane swim in the evenings, I have children jumping into my way the whole time. Sometimes they set up another lane but a lot of the time they don't. This is the most expensive membership I've paid so far and definitely the poorest value for money which lead me to making this review.

Fantastic experience: Kids went on the climbing tower and zip line, 9 - 12 and all really enjoyed it. They said the instructors were very nice and helpful with the obstacles. Would recommend and definitely will return.

Fantastic experience: Brought my brother to active tribe , yesterday for a bit of archery. Had a great time, I have dyspraxia and the man who supervised us couldn't have been more helpful. Dylan had a lovely time. And I even hit the target a few times.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and well organised staff Well trained staff for the outside activities.

Positive experience: Visited the pool this week and was very pleased with the whole set up. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. The place was nice and clean and the pool is very spacious

Negative experience: Turned up for 10 minutes before a two o’clock on the junior ropes with a 4 and 7 year old. Website only gave a height restriction no age and I saw from other reviews 4 year olds did the ropes. Any way session said on website took 45 minutes. Kids waited 35 minutes to get on the ropes. There was only one instructor for a group of 8 children. When one went up the other had to wait for him to come back. If the child got stuck he had to deal with that before coming back. Was very slow paced and the kids were very bored waiting for the instructor. The 4 year old needed quite a bit of attention one four year old came off bawling, mine managed to get to stage two with help but he didn’t have the time to spend with her. So waste of money in high season if there is that many kids no point and way too much waiting around for them. They should definitely have had at least one other person with him. Not the instructors fault. He did a fairly good job considering

Negative experience: Went to the family day absolutely terrible The music they where playing was inappropriate they had on the song horny When we said it to the people that worked for beat they said it wasn't inappropriate for children Told the management in active tribe they did nothing if that was me beat would have been kicked out

Fantastic experience: Courtown swimming pool, zip line, climbing frame and other activities. Great place to bring the family.

Negative experience: I have membership and honestly not sure why anymore , the lessons are on all day during the week when you come in to the public time at 6 it’s still full of lanes doing lessons , the water is freezing , the shower are freezing and the Sauna is out of order only thing is the staff are friendly but place needs to decide if it’s gonna just be for lessons and let people pay for just the gym or if it’s gonna have lessons all day and Notting in the evening !

Fantastic experience: So helpful , signed up recently and staff are v approachable and helpful. I had a problem with booking on line and I dropped in on my lunch break and they fixed it at reception and were super efficient . I was also able to grab a coffee / protein ball from café after :)

Positive experience: Good swimming pool! They offer swimming and gymnastics classes for kids too. The only downside is that you have specific times you can use the swimming pool if you have a membership.

Fantastic experience: The swimming lessons are fantastic. Can’t believe the progress my daughter has made, from Talented Tadpole to Outstanding Otter in just a few months. Really like their system of using tablets to track the progress of each individual student, allowing them to advance at their own pace.

Negative experience: Drove from Wexford to this place for the water slide that when we got there was closed. When asked when it opens I was told they haven’t got the staff and it states on the website when it’s open…… it doesn’t! Could have saved an hour drive and gone to any Wexford pool that are cleaner and have better facilities.

Fantastic experience: A great family day out .The many activities available in one place is sure to keep all ages happy and active for hours.On site is a large swimming pool with a waterslide which was very popular on the day of our visit.Archery is available on site and was being enjoyed by many on our dayy there A tree walk for adults ,and another for children ,combined with a climbing wall experience,was the most popular attraction.Prices are good and the staff are friendly with an emphasis on safety.Very important..

Fantastic experience: Our kids, 12 & 9, had an absolute blast today on the high ropes. Friendly instructors and a safe environment made for a day to remember for all. Thank you Active Tribe.

Fantastic experience: Great to have this in the area. Kids love the pool but wish the slide was open more often. Tried Altitude today & it was great fun. We'll be back to try the archery soon.

Positive experience: The pool itself is good but the jacuzzi is on a 5 minute timer and only works for 5 and then your waiting for 5 for it to start again.

Negative experience: Old equipment, small place, no air conditioning, swimming pool almost always closed for public, expensive, not recommended

Positive experience: I've been back to Courtown for a while now. It is a good centre for activity. The price for membership is also not high. Almost all classes are conducted with passion by couches. I wrote "almost" because aqua fit without Luke is something very, very boring. I attended different classes in Dublin and I know what these classes should look like. There is a word like attention, which a couch does not devote to exercising. He does not actively participate in them, he shows one exercise and devotes all his attention to drink water, look around and check the clock.... He can say that people don't exercise, they just talk. I will answer that people talk because classes are not interesting. When Luke was driving, no one was talking.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely perfect place to spend time with family,kids,friends!!!There are picnic area,coffee shop,treetop walk,gift shop,Viewing Tower.Friendly for dogs.

Positive experience: Love the swimming pool. They also have sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Still have booking system in place. Considering to get membership if I go here often enough. You can come there as a guest too and it has off peak time price as well. Update: Now you cannot walk in anymore. Strictly need to book in advance. We walked in 11 am and the pool is not available until 1 pm due to class and school. Not our best choice for swimming pool as we usually have spontaneous idea to go swimming for the day and not days in advance.

Negative experience: I have visited the gym with my two cousins and the state of the air conditioning is very bad , the gym is overly packed aswell.

Positive experience: Absolutely delighted management took on board our feelings about the temperature of the pool being too cold. Have to say it was absolutely lovely this morning at aqua and showers were hot as well. Thank you so much its a pleasure to have our nice warm pool back.

Fantastic experience: Good value for money, pool is always clean, very helpful staff, only down side is the slide is only open for little amounts at a time, last time was there it wasn't opened at all, and my child was really looking forward to the side.

Fantastic experience: Under the new management the centre looks great cafe looks good,not much of a selection of products in the cafe but it looks clean. Pool area looks good n clean one door in one of the changing areas is broken. Great coffee n hot chocolate

Negative experience: Its literally just for mums with kids . The gym isn't a gym it's got literally nothing heavy in it maxed the leg press in a week its for the yummy mummy brigade who drop the kids at the swimming lessons and then go for a 5 min run on the treadmill I was only in it for 3 weeks before I found a proper gym . The one in here is tiny it's badly equipped and if it's a tiny bit busy you won't get onto anything no gym manager no one around if something goes wrong or if you need help expensive pricing for a tiny little gym . The pool is huge and looks amazing but it's always fill of kids for swimming lessons so you can't even go for a quiet swim .

Fantastic experience: Fantastic fitness and leisure centre for local community and visitors as well! I am so happy it has been renovated and reopened early this year! I am mostly enjoying the swimming pool, steam and jacuzzi facilities. They have the freshest and cleanest water I have ever tried in the pool. Great job, guys!

Negative experience: Did zip lining and kayaking today, Caroline was fantastic both with us and the kids. Well done. So that was years ago, nowadays, overpriced for a swim, exactly an hour you get, and no enclosed showers , all open for everyone to see, broken locks on changing rooms. Will not be back in a hurry.

Fantastic experience: Only went swimming, not a gym junkie. Kids loved the pools and they control numbers with a booking system so not overcrowded. Returned there already and will become a regular.

Positive experience: It's a great swimming pool with a big slide and a whirlpool bath. The pool is divided into baby, kids and adult areas. Nice and clean changing and showering areas. There's a gym there as well, but didn't use. Overall great pool for all the family!

Positive experience: Very clean, water could be warmer, sauna could be hotter. Lockers and cubicles need renovation. Locks and hinges not working and rusted.

Negative experience: How this leisure centre can refer to itself as "state of the art" is beyond me. All I can say is that it's literally better than nothing at all, and in rural Wexford, that ain't much.

Negative experience: Not impressed with this pool and wouldn’t recommend. Staff were rude and corrected us multiple times on what we were allowed to do and not to do. no splashing, no opening and closing lockers, no leaving personal belongings unattended and no jumping in (even with no one but us in the pool) Very strict felt we were watched like hawks we call it the no fun pool ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: I only swim in the early morning. Everything's great, always clean and tidy. Staff are friendly too

Negative experience: I dont like the showers without doors or privacy and I dont know what why they took the kids slide off..does not look like any money spend in this place to make it better ...the lockers need 1 euro stupid idea in this covid age,they need to be sure and spend money to fix jacuzzi and the sauna before they took money for membership not that clean this place not even painted after 2 years....for years we pay family membership it s been good price for everyone and now there mix every thing up to make more money 100.00 for 2 adults in 2 kids under 6

Negative experience: Busy Saturday afternoon. Two young girl (lifeguard) running the show. Nobody over 30 year old that would be in charge. It's a joke. Its like a school yard.
